Powering HTS Constructions Temporary Site Facilities

CLIENT

HTS Construction

LOCATION

Miling, Western Australia

SECTOR

Construction / Temporary Power / Site Facilities

APS delivers efficient temporary power solutions for HTS Construction at remote Mining site, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing diesel consumption.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

APS was retained by HTS Construction, a pioneering construction company renowned for delivering bespoke solutions to various projects across Australia. HTS approached APS with a requirement for temporary power solutions to support their site facilities at the remote location of Miling, where grid connection was unavailable. Given the site’s proximity to Perth (approximately 2.5 hours north), HTS sought a solution that would not only minimise diesel consumption due to limited refuelling options but also extend the servicing intervals and downtime of their existing generator, thereby optimising overall operational efficiency.

OUR SOLUTION

Ecosun Trailer-Watt 15s Trailer

Ecosun Trailer-Watt, a portable 5kW power station, was promptly dispatched to the client’s site and effortlessly towed by their light vehicle. Following a swift deployment of under 5 minutes, the Victron Inverter system enabled the provision of power to the client, rendering the equipment immediately operational. The Ecosun Trailer-Watt boasts an impressive 23kWh of onboard battery storage capacity, allowing for primary reliance on battery power. The system seamlessly recharges through the integrated 5kW solar array or a backup diesel generator, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

PROJECT OUTCOME

Power requirements fulfilled

The Ecosun Trailer-Watt successfully fulfilled the power requirements of HTS’s site facilities, which typically exhibit a dynamic load profile, ranging from 1-3kW. By leveraging its onboard battery storage, the Trailer-Watt was able to operate primarily on renewable energy, with the solar array not only meeting the daytime load demands but also recharging the batteries to ensure a stable supply throughout the nocturnal period. As is characteristic of most site facilities, the load experiences pronounced spikes during peak hours (morning, lunch, and afternoon).

KEY OUTCOME

96% IN FUEL REDUCTION

Conversely, the evening hours witness a significant decrease in load as only essential appliances such as lighting, refrigeration units, and computers remain active. The Trailer-Watt’s 23kWh onboard storage capacity enables it to efficiently manage this fluctuating demand, maintaining a stable supply while preserving reserve capacity for morning peak periods. By utilizing this innovative solution, HTS achieved significant reductions in fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, and noise pollution compared to traditional diesel generators. With its versatility and scalability, the Ecosun Trailer-Watt is poised to excel in a wide range of applications across various projects and locations, effortlessly integrating into even the most complex power infrastructure.
