The Atlas Copco ZBC 500–250 is a high-power containerised energy storage system engineered for large-scale industrial and hybrid energy applications. The ZBC 500–250 provides 246 kWh of lithium-ion storage through a 672–864 V battery system. Twenty 160 Ah LiFePO4 modules deliver a stable energy reserve suitable for continuous cycling and medium-to-high load applications. The system offers an expected 6,000-cycle life at a 90 per cent depth of discharge, supporting long-term reliability across intensive industrial use.
With a nominal output of 500 kVA at 400 V, the ZBC 500–250 is designed to support large electrical loads, power distribution systems and hybrid plant configurations. A 721 A discharge capability enables the system to manage substantial and fluctuating demand, making it suitable for projects requiring high output and consistent performance.
The ZBC 500–250 is housed in a secure container enclosure designed for transportation, cranage and fixed-site installation. The structure supports deployment across remote, high-demand or harsh environments. Access points allow for routine maintenance and system checks, while battery calibration to full charge is required once every three months to support long-term performance.
The ZBC 500–250 can operate independently as a standalone storage system or integrate with generators, renewable sources and grid connections. It supports applications such as load management, peak shaving, demand control and power smoothing. Multiple ZBC units can also be installed together, allowing storage capacity and output to scale with project requirements.
