Working with West Power Group on powering their temporary site facilities
CLIENT
West Power Group
LOCATION
Perth, Western Australia
APS and WPG collaborated on a Perth Metro project, powering site facilities 24/7. Together, they worked to reduce CO2 emissions and diesel consumption for the office compound.

SOLUTION HIGHLIGHTS
OUR SOLUTION
Foxtheon Battery Energy Storage System
By incorporating a Foxtheon Battery Energy Storage System into their site office compound in conjunction with an existing generator, WPG significantly reduced diesel consumption over the project lifecycle. The battery became the primary power source, while the generator was responsible for recharging. Once installed, the BESS & Generator combination lead to the diesel generator reducing its daily run hours from 24 to 8. A few months after the BESS was installed, a 40kW Solar PV system was installed on site. This reduced the daily run hours from 8 to 3.84hrs per day
PROJECT OUTCOME
Key Benefits WPG Identified For Their Operations
Reduction in CO2 Emissions: Reduced generator run time led to lower CO2 emissions. Data from the Foxtheon Remote Monitoring system showed monthly reductions of 1,557kg with Battery Only and 3,175kg with Battery & Solar over three months.
Improved Generator Efficiency: Integrating a battery with diesel generators enhances efficiency. It ensures the generator runs at 50-80% capacity while recharging, preventing engine deglazing caused by light loading.
Reduction in Noise Pollution: Cutting generator run time from 24 to 8 hours reduced noise pollution. Though not a major issue at this site, it’s important for projects near living areas.
