HTS improves Miling camp power efficiency with APS hybrid battery solution

188kWh battery integration

Efficient 75% generator load

Reduced fuel, noise and emissions

APS installed a 188kWh battery system alongside a Shindaiwa 80kVA generator at the Miling Accommodation Camp with HTS. Eighteen months on, the hybrid setup continues to support a 24-hour camp where reliable power is essential around the clock.
With a camp operating 24 hours a day, power demand never stops. In a traditional setup, this would usually mean a generator running continuously, regardless of how much load is actually required. Over time, that constant operation can lead to unnecessary fuel burn, increased emissions, excess noise and greater wear on the generator. For remote accommodation sites, these challenges can quickly add up. Continuous runtime places added stress on equipment, increases servicing requirements and creates a less efficient power setup overall.
By integrating the 188kWh battery into the system, APS helped create a more efficient and balanced power solution. The battery supports the site’s ongoing energy needs, allowing the Shindaiwa 80kVA generator to run at a more efficient 75% load when required. This improves generator performance, reduces fuel consumption, lowers noise and emissions, and helps extend the life of the generator. After 18 months in operation, the system demonstrates how a simple change in power setup can deliver meaningful long-term results for remote and continuous-use sites.
